I'll give you an example straight from the games, we all know that the game starts in 1444, a crusader kings ends in 1448. There is no definite change for the end of one period and the start of another. This is what I personally did before I bought crusader kings. If you use you EU4's extended timeline mod to get a similar experience, even if it's not as in-depth. ![]() Let's say that you didn't have much money, but you still want to be able to experience crusader kings two, or at least the time period. How often do you get the chance to play the modern world in your image compared to a time period years ago? These are powerful personal experiences that in all fairness are perfectly go to any kind of achievement you could achieve in any other paradox game, or even possibly more. Imagine taking up power in the modern world and leaving it in the direction that you want. Imagine overseeing the end of the Soviet Union, and the New World order that was achieved. Imagine the postwar world, and having to rebuild Europe and the world in your own image, duking it out with the Soviet Union or America. imagine it's healing full independence and from Spain or Portugal in South America. Imagine being Justinian and reuniting the empire. Imagine being the barbarians overcoming Rome. ![]() Imagine playing as united Roman empire at its height and expanding even farther. ![]() Paradox games have a very finite limit, but mods like the extended timeline mod allow you to explore time periods previously impossible in paradox games. I understand your perspective, but allow me to defend mods like these.
